This scripture opened my eyes to realize a lot.
I know in recent times I tell people or you have someone tell you to be positive.
I know I said be around positive people and think positive.
But someone brought even more attention to me by saying that God never told us to think positive.
I know some of ya struggle with being positive simply because we are unaware sometimes of what can be considered positive.
We could be making things positive that God never intended for us to think on or do.
Be aware that sometimes we can consider things to be right and not realize that it’s the total opposite of what God wants.
Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on these things; whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable.
If it’s excellent or praiseworthy, think on these things.
The word of God gives us the specifics on what we should be thinking about to shift our mindset into thinking the right way.
It never said think positive
But these are things we do consider positive
It’s a battle in the mind and I know it’s easier said than done
But many times we hear to think positive, but never are we shown to know what positive thinking is.
This scripture gives us the assurance that if we think on these things we will find peace with God.
The following scripture goes on to say
“Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
Once we Apple what we learned and taught, The God of peace will be with us.
The peace of God is right there to comfort you once you begin to apply the word of God to your life.
Allow God to bring peace to your situation today.
Think on these things.
Allow this to be evident that God has given you peace.
Let your gentleness be evident to all, the Lord is near.
The peace of God will give you understanding and will guard your hearts and mind.
So instead of telling to think positive
Show them Philippians 4:8 and tell them to think on these things and God will give them peace.
